California Strawberry farmers have invested over $13 million in research to explore alternatives to methyl bromide - more than any other commodity group around the globe.
In February 2013, California strawberry farmers and Cal Poly formed a landmark partnership to establish the first-ever Strawberry Sustainability Research & Education Center. This institute is serving as a model for California agriculture by modernizing research in a way that creates a more innovative, collaborative and high-impact approach for helping California strawberry farmers become more viable and sustainable.
