Regional Water Board to Hear Agriculture Panel

This month the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board will hear presentations from stakeholders regarding progress and challenges of the current Irrigated Lands Regulatory Program (ILRP). The timing of this presentation is important as preparations are being made for the upcoming Ag Order 4.0, which is scheduled for implementation in 2020.The first day of the 2-day meeting agriculture was invited to make a presentation and the second day a presentation will be made by representatives from environmental justice groups.The agricultural presentation will include topics such as:

  • Farm Management Practices
  • Nutrient, Irrigation and Pesticide Management
  • Generating Meaningful Data & Balancing Level of Detail with Reporting Burden

The meeting will take place September 20-21 in the Watsonville City Council Chamber (275 Main Street - 4th Floor).The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. each day and is scheduled to end at 5:00 p.m.Growers are welcome to attend and give public comment.Public comment is not scheduled to begin until after 1:30 p.m. should any growers wish to attend for that and not listen to the morning presentation.
