Yesterday the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board sent out a notice that today's deadline to submit a farm's Total Nitrogen Applied (TNA) report was extended to April 2, 2018.

"... I will not issue Notices of Violation for failure to submit 2017 TNA reports by March 1, 2018, as long as the Central Coast Water Board receives the completed 2017 TNA report(s) by April 2, 2018. This letter provides all growers who are required to submit a TNA report an extra 31 days to submit their 2017 TNA reports without receiving a violation notice for late submittal."

This applies to all Tier 2 and Tier 3 growers enrolled in the Agricultural Order R3-2017-002 farming high-risk crops (strawberries are categorized as such). This extension deadline is for 2017 TNA reports only and the March 1 deadline will be in effect next year.

For more information regarding deadlines, please reference the 3-year Compliance Calendar or visit the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board Irrigated Lands webpage.

For growers' records, it is recommended to save a copy of the TNA submitted and the extension letter.
