SB 1159 - Workers’ Compensation Presumption
On September 17, 2020 Governor Newsom signed SB 1159 which created new reporting obligations for California employers with employees who test positive for COVID-19. This legislation takes effect immediately and remains in effect through January 1, 2023.

The California Strawberry Commission will continue to provide growers and shippers helpful resources which help to clarify the statutes of the bill. Here are the latest:

COVID-19 Paid Leave Side-by-Side Comparison

CA Department of Industrial Relations has released a side-by-side comparison of paid leave laws that may cover California workers affected by COVID-19.

The chart provides a comparison of CA Paid Family Leave, CA Paid Sick Leave, and Federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). This chart was updated September 2020.
