On January 31st, U.S. District Court Judge Kimberly Mueller, granted a preliminary injunction blocking the enforcement of AB 51, the new law that would restrict workplace arbitration as a condition of employment. The ruling halts enforcement of the new law and allows the continuation of arbitration agreements as a condition of employment in California. The Court has yet to issue out a detailed explanation of the ruling and it is uncertain if this recent decision will be appealed at the Ninth Circuit Court.
